New partner enters the club, Solar Global group of Vítězslav Skopal bought a half share in the club
A new partner has entered the 1. FC Slovácko football club. The Solar Global group of Vítězslav Skopal has acquired a half share in the club. The new ownership of the club is 50 per cent owned by the existing 100 per cent owner Z-Group of Zdeněk Zemek and 50 per cent by Solar Global.
Yesterday's general meeting elected a new board of directors for the club. The new chairman of the board is
Ing. Vítězslav Skopal, vice-chairman of the board JUDr. Stanislav Knotek and the third member of the board Mgr. Petr Pojezný.
"I have always declared that Slovácko is open, that I welcome every partner who will help not only as a sponsor but also as a shareholder of the club. Such a strong partner has now been found. Our common goal is to consolidate and even further strengthen Slovácko's position," said JUDr. Ing. Zdeněk Zemek.
"The Solar Global Group has its roots in the Uherské Hradiště region and deepening our cooperation to the level of ownership in this top team is the next logical step in how I can support regional development and activities. Mr. Zemek and I agreed on the priorities and the future of the club, so setting up the cooperation was only a formal matter. I am very happy to be able to connect Solar Global with a player like 1. FC Slovácko," said the new Chairman of the Board of 1. FC Slovácko Ing. Vítězslav Skopal.
"Our goal is to play steadily at the top of the league table so that the league cups are not just a coincidence, but become a regular part of the club's everyday life. We want to significantly strengthen and support the youth as the base of the club," explained Zdeněk Zemek.
"It's easier to pull it off in two and instead of one there will now be two pillars. This is another major milestone for the club. We are going to strengthen and increase the club's budget and create the conditions for Slovácko, even though it is the smallest city compared to other league clubs, to be one of the biggest in football," added Zdeněk Zemek.
"We also expect more intensive cooperation with the city of Uherské Hradiště, as the owner of the sports stadium, in creating adequate facilities for both European competitions and for the constantly expanding and improving domestic competitions. The club has open arms for other sponsors and wants to develop cooperation with the broader spectator community," concluded Zemek.
Slovácko has had the most successful season in the club's history. It has repeated fourth place in the league table, won the MOL Cup, is playing European competitions and has an open path to European cups. The women are playing in the Champions League for the second year in a row. The junior girls won the championship title and were only prevented from defending it by the coronavirus pandemic.
Zdeněk Zemek, as a local patriot, entered the club in 2007, when Slovácko was threatened with bankruptcy and the revocation of its licence. Players were leaving the club, the A team was at the bottom of the second league table, the football academy was in ruins and the club was choked by a hundred-million-dollar debt. Zdeněk Zemek and his colleagues managed to save Slovácko, which was in steep decline at the time. In fifteen years, the club, with his support at its back, had come a long way, and with hard work, step by step, it gradually stabilized. The football academy was restarted and is now one of the best in the country. It trains top players who find employment in European clubs and is the base of the club, which is gradually developing its own cadre. Today, the club, which used to play mostly for salvation, is a top team that belongs to the league elite. They are steadily at the top of the league table and routinely beat stronger clubs with much bigger facilities. The club has a total of 22 teams, both men's and dynamic women's teams.
